New L-com USB Wireless Ethernet Adapter Provides Faster Connection

NORTH ANDOVER, MA – 12/14/11 – L-com, Inc., a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, has released details of its new 2.4/5.8 GHz 802.11a/b/g/n wireless USB adapter. The item includes a 5 dBi antenna and features data rates up to 300 Mbps. 

The new wireless adapter is an improvement over the WLAN-LCUSB-01 adapter that was introduced nearly two years ago.  The new part number, WLAN-LCUSB2458, reflects the adapter’s dual-band capabilities. Both items are now being offered on the L-com web site.

 “This new wireless adapter was designed in response to a growing demand for wireless Ethernet connectivity at ever higher speeds,” said Patrick Pesa, L-com’s Director of Product Management. “It will help anyone who requires a connection to the Internet but does not have access to Ethernet wiring.”

The antenna included with the new adapter can be removed and replaced with a higher-gain multi-band rubber duck antenna, or a cable can be introduced to more precisely position the antenna.  The item will be stocked in the USA for same-day shipment and the data sheet is available for free download on the L-com web site.
