Coiled, curly, extendable, or spiral data cables have been available for some time in power and control applications but they are a rarity for high-speed, reliable data, especially where twisted pairs are concerned such as Ethernet. L-com’s TRD815SZ-C series of Ethernet coil cord patch cables are intended for industrial, automation, robotic or even office environments where ordinary patch cables fail. They are designed and tested to truly pass Category 5e standards. These spiral design, retractile cables retain coil “memory” and can extend or retract 3 or 6 times their coiled length. They are a great alternative to mechanical retractable cables that require a crank or device that adds complexity and cost. Designed to extend and retract millions of times without sacrificing electrical performance, these cables will fit the most stringent applications. Available in an economical unshielded (UTP) TPU jacket as well as a foil-shielded (F/UTP) zero-halogen rated, TPU jacket. 6 inch tangents terminated with standard RJ45 connectors allow the cables to work in any common Ethernet application. Ideal applications include movable equipment, robotics, factory automation, hand-held devices, space saving, test carts and machine engineering. Order online today.

Features
  • True Cat5e performance rated Coiled cable assembly with 180° horizontal tangents
  • Curly, retractable, retractile body has a six times (6x) expansion/retraction ratio with 6 inch straight tangents terminated to standard, shielded RJ45 (8x8) plugs
  • 26AWG stranded construction with UL 20352 style, oil resistant, high-flex, spiral, zero-halogen (ZH or 0Z) TPU polyurethane jacket for extra flexibility
  • Coiled cable has "memory" needed to provide millions of extension/retraction cycles without sacrificing electrical performance; F/UTP ZHTPU version is tested to 6 million cycles
  • Foil Shielded (F/UTP) design for EMI and RFI protection

Application
  • Industrial Ethernet & Harsh Environment
  • Factory Automation & Machine Engineering
  • Test carts and Test Equipment, especially Hand-held Device Connections
  • Robotics
  • Space savings
