Coaxial Adapter, N Male / SMB Jack

These L-com RF Coaxial Adapters are used to interface between Type N to SMB with coaxial connections. The LCAD30022 is a straight adapter with a male to jack configuration. This Coaxial Adapter, N Male / SMB Jack is made from brass and has a nickel finish.

The Type N interface design is defined by Mil-STD-348A and has many popular features including a threaded coupling method with a robust center contact and outer conductor interface. Type-N adapters generally operate to 12 GHz but precision versions will operate to 18 GHz. The larger size provides a very secure and robust interface and is often used as the output port on RF equipment. Type-N adapters are often used as port proetectors insuring that exepnsive test equipment ports are not damage during repeated use.

The SMB interface is smaller than an SMA and uses a snap on connection. An important difference to note is that the SMB Jack (female) interface design has a Male center contact and the SMB Plug (Male) design uses a female socket for the center pin. SMB connectors generally have a maximum operating frequency of 4 GHZ and are available in 50 Ohm and 75 Ohm impedances.
