HyperAmp® HA2401RTGXE RF amplifiers are compatible with 802.11g (b/g) wireless LAN equipment. Hyperlink's Active Power Control circuit automatically adjusts the amplifier's gain to provide a constant output power regardless of cable length.

The HyperAmp® HA2401RTGXE series improves range by delivering full transmit power and receive gain directly at the antenna where it is most effective. This gain compensates for cable losses and actually increases the receive sensitivity of most wireless LAN radios. The unit can be configured to deliver the full transmit power with as little as 1 mW of input power, permitting cable runs of several hundred feet with no degradation in operating range.

Built-In Power-Over-Ethernet Pass-Through

The HA2401RTGXE models feature a built-in Power-Over-Ethernet interface. This allows the amplifier to receive its power by the same CAT5 cable used to pass Data and Power to an additional PoE device. This eliminates the need for an additional DC Injector and coax cable, simplifying installation. For non-PoE applications, the amplifier can be powered by an optional 12VDC power supply.

The HA2401RTGXE models are designed to be installed indoors or in weather-resistant enclosures such as the HyperLink NEMA enclosure. They feature rugged, cast aluminum construction to ensure years of reliable operation.

**Important PoE Injector Note**
The HA2401RTGXE amplifiers will ONLY work with Hyperlink's own line of PoE Injectors and Power Supplies. They will NOT work with ANY other companies standard 802.3af PoE Injectors. We recommend the BT-CAT5-P1-4848 48VDC 48Watt injector kit.

Note:
This Hyperlink bi-directional amplifier is designed for burst half-duplex operation. It is not intended for constant transmit or CW operation. Operation of the amplifier in CW mode will damage the amplifier and void the warranty.

Typical PoE Amplifier Applications

Powering the Amplifier and Access Point using a Single PoE Ethernet Cable (see diagram link below)

This application is used to provide power to the amplifier and one additional PoE device using a CAT5 Ethernet cable. Power is "Injected" into the CAT5 cable (which is carrying data only) using an injector kit. For most applications we recommend HyperLink's BT-CAT5-P1-4848 48VDC 48Watt injector kit. From there the CAT5 Ethernet cable that now carries both power and data is attached to "PoE In" jack on the amplifier. The amplifier receives its power from this connection. Data and Power is passed to the "PoE Out" jack on the amplifier and then can be connected to an additional PoE device such as a wireless access point. Note: HyperLink's CA-POE-02 CAT5 conversion cable is required for use with Cisco® AP's.

Powering the Amplifier using it's own Dedicated 48V PoE Line (see diagram link below)

In this application the amplifier receives its power from a dedicated 48V PoE line. For this we recommend using our PS4820-POE Injector/Power Supply. Power is injected into a CAT5 cable which is then attached to the amplifier's "PoE In" jack. This application is ideal for remote powering of the amplifier only.

Powering the Amplifier Directly with 12VDC Power Supply or Vehicle Power (see diagram link below)

To power the amplifier directly, we recommend using our PS1212-21R 12VDC power supply. In mobile applications the amplifier can also be powered using our PS-LIGHTER-06 12VDC Vehicle Lighter Plug. Note: The PoE ports on the amplifier are not used in this application.
