Outdoor 10/100 Base-T CAT5e Lightning Surge Protector - Punch Down Terminals

The HyperLink AL-CAT5EPW Lightning Protector provides superior lightning and surge protection with improved frequency response for both indoor and outdoor 10/100 Base-T Ethernet networks. In addition, the unit is compatible with 802.3af Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) devices. Integral to the design is protection for the four Ethernet data pairs and the PoE DC power feed.

This unit supports normal and reverse polarity PoE used in some Cisco Access Points. The AL-CAT5EPW is compatible with Wireless Access Points, Access Servers and Outdoor Routers, with or without Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) functionality.

The unit features a low capacitance diode array that can withstand large surge currents. The design utilizes a Thyristor diode which switches to a low impedance state once triggered. This offers superior power handling capability compared to TVS or Zener diode based designs. The limits are +/- 58 volts on the four cable pairs.

The compact weather resistant housing features a lockable hinged cover and mounting holes are provided on the rear of the enclosure for mounting. The two cable grommets may be adjusted to the size of the cable used and are removable. This protector feature punch down terminal blocks.

This model is equivalent to the Motorola/Transtector ALPU-ORT protector.
