In addition to employing qualified people to help our customers, we also excel in the ongoing training of our personnel. We conduct rigorous call monitoring and re-training to ensure our customer representatives are knowledgeable, accurate, friendly and polite. We maintain a set of documented procedures to ensure that even the most complicated requests are completed correctly every time.
In an age when many businesses are scaling back on training and support, L-com continues to give our staff the training and tools they need to excel. And our customers continually tell us that this is the right decision. L-com's commitment to our suppliers is also far reaching. We pride ourselves in being fair to our vendors. We never engage in price fixing and every L-com employee has signed a Code of Conduct Agreement which includes not accepting gifts and never engaging in conflicts of interest. In addition, we employ top-notch quality assurance and quality compliance personnel to ensure our suppliers conform to the standard of excellence we require for our customers. We are an ISO 9001: 2000 certified company that continuously strives to improve our quality.
Fairness to Employees
L-com believes that motivated employees are essential to our ongoing success. We want everyone who works here to be empowered and active ambassadors for our company and our products. The foundation for creating that kind of work environment is our exceptional package of employee benefits that include medical, dental and eye insurance, as well as a 401K. Fairness to Community
L-com is dedicated to being a responsible and committed corporate citizen. We support a number of local charities by holding yearly events such as clothing and food drives for the Lazarus House in Lawrence, MA, and money drives for the Emmaus House in Haverhill, MA, and a yearly Daffodil Days promotion to benefit cancer research.
We also support a number of special causes such as distributing packages of goods to our troops overseas and organizing donations from our employees to benefit the victims of the China earthquake. Because we operate a facility in China, we feel a special commitment to help the victims.
L-com takes pride in the appearance of our building and the grounds surrounding our company. Visitors often remark at how beautiful we keep our facility and landscape. We employ a full-time operations assistant who keeps the landscaping neat and blooming.
And our commitment to being green extends well beyond our grounds. Through our two year old green initiative, L-com has taken serious measures to improve the well being of our environment, our employees and our customers. We've replaced all light bulbs in our building with energy saving bulbs. We use an exclusive recycled air pillow system (instead of packing peanuts) to protect our products during shipment. We've also removed lead solder from our production floors and use a sophisticated analyzer to test all of our products for the presence of RoHS elements to eliminate harmful exposure.
