Engineering Supervisor

Position Definition

As part of the Hardware Development team you will demonstrate effective interaction and supervision of a multi-disciplinary team and deliver custom designs and solutions for a variety of audio, video and connectivity needs in a rapid development and product commercialization environment. Must be fluent in electrical design techniques to design and document new products or implement product improvements by performing the following duties: evaluate, analyze and make recommendations on products for cost improvements to improve competitive position of the company.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • See design through all phases from conception through production including requirements generation, schematic, layout, prototype builds, firmware design and testing, and commercialization.
  • Follow Standard operating Procedures (SOP) to procure materials needed to construct prototypes and oversees the design engineering of model changes.
  • Collect and analyze test data and reports to determine if designs meet functional and performance specifications.
  • Validate system performance in order to prove the technical design through analysis, simulation, and laboratory testing.
  • Experience with industrial digital communication protocols. (e.g Ethernet, TCP/IP, USB, UART, RS485, RS232, including  Connector packaging and ergonomic evaluation and etc.).
  • Utilize your expertise with software design tools such as CableTest, Mentor Graphics CHS, Solid works and or Pro-E design tool.
  • Generate complete system documentation and provides input to technical proposals in order to effectively communicate the design and/or approach to internal and external customers.
  • Independently develop and implement corrective action to product and procedural problems.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and mentor-ship for less experienced design engineers in order to increase our design expertise base within the company with an emphasis on performance, design optimization, re-use, and generating intellectual property.
  • Provide schedule and technical compliance updates to management in order to effectively record progress of technical aspects of the program assigned.
  • Ensure successful transition of products/projects to full scale production.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have 8 years of  Copper, Audio, Video Wire and Cable design experience involving RF, industrial control, Data transport and analog design 
  • Demonstrated understanding of Design for Manufacturability, Design for Assembly, and Design for Testability
  • Experience with Cable Markers, Braiding machines, cable and sleeve printing machines, cable analyzers, fault locators etc. preferred.
  • Develop and ensure proper procedures and methods are used by other members of the design team by providing a value added quality review.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards and guidelines
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with others
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere
  • Experience with Solid works, Documentation and EPDM
  • Experience layout and routing including modern passive and active electronics components, experience with Altium Designer strongly preferred
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and Minimum of  8 years of experience with Audio, Video, copper cable design,  layout and routing including modern passive and active electronics components.
  • US citizen or authorized to work in the US

Customer Service Representative (Location: North Andover, MA)

Position Definition

This is an opportunity for you to join a nationally award winning Customer Service team. (Customer Service Department of the Year 2011 and 2012) As a Customer Service Representative you are responsible for providing exceptional service in a fast paced, dynamic, multi-channel environment. Customer Service Representatives accurately and efficiently receive and enter sales orders, provide price quotes and work with customers to provide solutions that create customer loyalty and build upon L-com’s outstanding reputation as an industry leader. This is a full time position with occasional overtime required. Bi-lingual Spanish Speaking Preferred. (Monday – Friday, No Weekends) The job will be located in North Andover, MA.

Shift Available: 11:00am to 8:00pm (EST)

General Duties:

- Ensure proper qualification of all contacts, customers and opportunities
- Master the L-com order entry process including the EPDS order entry system
- Consistently clean and keep current the contact database
- Oversee timely and accurate entry and review customer orders
- Follow all ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions related to the position
- Interact with the L-com customer via the most efficient medium for the customer
- Learn L-com’s product offerings to the best of your ability
- Assume additional projects as directed by the management team
- Contribute as a team member in the customer service department and provide the best   customer service possible to our internal and external customers
- Strive to make the customer’s experience with L-com pleasant and effective

Required Skills and Qualifications:

- Experience reviewing customer purchase orders and data/order entry in a Call Center Environment
- Proven experience dealing with customers (2 to 5 years)
- Ability to work with customers/teams to resolve issues, strongly preferred
- Ability and experience working in a fast paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent Oral and Written communication skills (including typing)
- Strong Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet daily goals and deadlines
- Ability to effectively multi-task
- Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Fluent in English/Spanish (or other language) preferred.
