L-com Wins Gold in 2012 Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer ServiceSM
NORTH ANDOVER, MA — 03/07/12— L-com, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of wired and wireless connectivity products, announced today that it has won Stevie® Awards statues in four categories at the sixth annual Stevie® Awards for Sales & Customer Service.
This is the second year in a row that L-com has been recognized as a Stevie® award finalist, and this is the second year in a row that the company has won a gold for Customer Service Department of the Year in Computer Hardware. L-com also won bronze statues for Customer Service Department of the Year in Telecommunications, Contact Center of the Year (up to 100 seats), and Best Use of Technology in Customer Service.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the trophies were presented to honorees during a gala banquet on Monday, February 27 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. More than 350 nominated customer service and sales executives from the U.S.A. and several other countries attended. The presentations were broadcast live by the Business TalkRadio Network.
Companies of all sizes and in virtually every industry submitted more than 1000 entries to this year’s competition, an increase of almost 30 percent over 2011. Finalists were determined by the average scores of 93 professionals worldwide, acting as preliminary judges.
“When we won that first Stevie back in 2011, we were really thrilled. It was a great confirmation of the way that we do business,” said Ed Caselden, L-com CEO, “and it gave a boost to our whole organization.”

Achievements since July 2011 were considered for these awards. For L-com, those achievements included setting up a fully integrated customer service team in China, accurately answering questions about more than 24,000 highly technical stock items and custom manufacturing services, the achievement of 85/15 service level (85 percent of all calls answered in 15 seconds or less), which will be improved to 90/15 this year, and the implementation of centralized training for customer service reps working both in Massachusetts and Florida.
