NORTH ANDOVER, MA – 9/16/2010 – L-com, Inc, a global leader in the manufacture of wired and wireless connectivity products, has developed male D-sub field termination connectors to further expand its D-sub offerings. These connectors, which are available in DB9, DB15, DB25, and HD15 sizes, are now available to complement the existing female D-sub field termination connectors.
One notable difference between the new male connectors and existing female connectors is that L-com has rotated the male connectors’ terminal blocks 90 degrees, simplifying termination because the wires will not have to be routed so many different distances. The new male connectors also have two holes at the back of the PCB to allow for a tie-wrap to lock down wire or cable.
As is the case with all of L-com’s innovative field termination connectors, the only tools needed are a wire stripper and a screwdriver; no soldering or crimping tools are required. These D-sub connectors are also panel mountable.
“Our female field termination connectors have been so popular that it made sense to add male versions to ensure our customers had all possible options available to them,” said Steve Smith, L-com’s Product Manager in charge of D-sub products.
