All of this ensures that the contents of the enclosure will be safe from rain and dust. However, what do you do when you need to install something in a cold environment, even sub-zero temperatures? L-com has the answer!

Sub-Zero temperature protection
L-com’s sub-zero 48 VDC PoE-powered weatherproof enclosure is perfect for the rigors of sub-zero temperatures. Like the regular heated enclosures, the sub-zero model has a thermostat-controlled heating system. It is powered by a single Cat5 cable plugged into the included remote-mounted power supply. However, this thermostat is designed for use in sub-zero environments up to -30°F (-34°C), maintaining a nominal internal ambient temperature of +40°F (4°C). In addition to the insulation properties of fiberglass, this enclosure features foam insulation to aid in heat retention. L-com even carries a rack-mount DC injector that can supply power for up to 12 sub-zero enclosures, perfect for multiple installations.
