What is APC polish?
APC (Angled Physical Contact) style connectors are primarily used in Singlemode fiber applications where precision connector mating is required. The connector ends provide less than –60dB of back reflection which is a measure of the light reflected off the polished end of a fiber connector and are polished at an 8° angle. Some examples of applications where APC connectors are required include optical transmitters and receivers and optical test equipment.

In Singlemode applications the amount of back reflection on assemblies can be critical.
