For many applications, such as instrumentation and control, serial peripherals, and parallel communications, data cabling is key. LSZH jackets are made from material that provides all of the flexibility, protection and convenience that a typical PVC jacket would provide, but if burned, LSZH jackets release less smoke and no toxic gas.

Why is it important what is released when the cable burns?
If a cable catches fire, it’s possible you may inhale toxic chemicals that can render you unconscious (or worse) when mobility is critical. Such a situation is characteristic of military and aerospace data cabling. Think about it: if a submarine, airplane, or military vehicle catches fire, you can’t easily escape. Equipping these modes of transportation with anything other than true LSZH cabling is unthinkable.
