NEMA Rated Weatherproof Enclosures For European Applications
L-com has developed a series of European configured NEMA Enclosures tailored to fit any application going into the European market. The NEMA Enclosures are all configured to accept 220-250VAC input power. There are cooling-only models, heating-only models and cooling-heating models to fit most application locations for the system designers and installers. The Enclosures have universal plug receptacles to accommodate the various plug configurations found in Europe, as well as US plugs
These NEMA Enclosures are the same NEMA rated Enclosures used in L-com’s HyperLink brand products installed in many applications. The National Electrical Manufacturer Association (NEMA) defines standard ratings for products to help judge the types of environments in which the product may be used. Most of the HyperLink brand of weatherproof enclosures that L-com carries are NEMA rated either 3 or 4.
NEMA 3 enclosures are for outdoor use to help protect products within them from rain, sleet, wind blown dust, and damage from external ice formation
NEMA 3R enclosures are also for outdoor use but they are not designed for dust
NEMA 3S enclosures are also for outdoor use and, in addition to the general NEMA 3 protections, they also provide for operation of external mechanisms when ice laden
NEMA 4X enclosures are for indoor or outdoor use in protecting devices from corrosion, windblown dust and rain, splashing or even hose-directed water, and damage from external ice formation
In addition to the new line of European Enclosures, L-com offers a large variety of powered enclosures, including 120 VAC, 240 VAC, EURO 240 VAC, 12 VDC and even Power over Ethernet enclosures.
