Data Protocol Conversion

Today’s communications networks are frequently comprised of many legacy and newer products that speak different languages or protocols. The challenge for an IT staff is to make all products communicate and work together as one cohesive system.

A Protocol is a common format that is used to transmit data between two or more devices. If you are attempting to integrate products with different protocols then a protocol conversion device is required.

There are several forms of protocol converters.
Some converters are metal or plastic boxes or cases, which house firmware or software that completes the
bi-directional protocol conversion.

Other types of protocol converters are built into cable assemblies where a very small circuit board along with firmware performs the protocol conversion.
